birch collection stacking set
birch collection stacking set
A playful set of small stoneware bowls, thrown "off the hump" with a blend of textured iron-rich clays. Each bowl has a distict profile and they are each finished in one of the five ash glazes making up the Birch collection, which form a subtle color gradient when stacked.
Finishes from bottom to top: Winter Birch, Ling, Lichen, Catkin, and Sphagnum. The smallest bowl holds a small hand-formed pebble in the Pebble finish. Each of the glazes is made using silver birch ash.
These are playful objects, made to satisfyingly stack and unstack. A ceramic variant on a set of wooden nesting dolls. They are also a delight to use for organising herbs and spices while preparing salsas and curries, or to hold precious objects - pinecones, remnants of papery wasps' nests, pieces of beach-worn quartz.
The upper diameter of the largest bowl (Winter Birch) is approximately 8.5-9.5 cm and the upper diameter of the smallest bowl (Sphagnum) is approximately 4 cm. When stacked, the set is approximately 8.5-10 cm tall.
Each handmade stacking set is unique. The item pictured is representative of what you will receive. Every batch varies slightly from previous batches.
